BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
HELP US IN THE FIGHT TOWARDS A MORE DIVERSE AND UNPREJUDICED DENMARK
You can become part of the network Together Against Racism, who work to create awareness and combat racism in Denmark.
We do this through awareness raising, debate events and cultural activities that challenge the way we see and meet each other.
WHAT CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO?
Debate events – join us in creating a focus on current issues, help in defining themes, develop formats of debate and to locate speakers and researchers.
Workshops – become a facilitator of workshops about privileges, norms, anti-racism and diversity at primary and secondary schools.
Podcast – join us in developing the format for a podcast, identify current themes and help with sound recordings.
Other activities – contribute to the development of creative event formats, the booking of artists and to create a platform for their expressions and performances.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
We require that you commit to the group for at least 6 months and that you are able to set aside 1-2 hours weekly for the volunteer group.
At the moment we seek people with experience with cultural events, volunteer coordination or experience with podcast, but these specific competencies are not a requirement for participating in the group.
Danish is not a requirement.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?
Before new volunteers become part of Together Against Racism, you are invited for a meeting to clear expectations, where we will introduce to the group's work and methods and where we will clarify how much time you are able to dedicate to the group.
We belive that our work and core messages can reach far when engaged and strong-willed people are behind it. We believe that it is often the personal stories that can really make an impression, which is why we are very much personally engaged in the stories and messages we bring forward.
Therefore we work to create a room and space for others to be inspired and to feel represented, to act for what is important to them, or to become part of our common battle.
